Rare condition involving compression of the celiac artery & surrounding nerves beneath the diaphragm
The median arcuate ligament presses on the artery & celiac nerve plexus
Can reduce blood flow & irritate nerves supplying the stomach & upper abdomen
Often difficult to diagnose because symptoms mimic many other GI conditions
